My weighty logo was admitedly a crass visual pun. Just before completion it was grabbed off of my desk by the cigar chomping publisher. He took the sketch and dissappeared into a board meeting, reappearing hours later congratulating me for the official new logo. Four decades later they've added bevels and metallic textures but I still think a successful wordmark works best in black & white.
